Introduction

As a huge fan of both Disney and movies, I had been eager to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida for years. Located at the Walt Disney World Resort, this theme park is dedicated to the glitz and glamour of show business, with attractions and experiences inspired by Hollywood’s golden age and the magic of the movies. Finally, my chance to visit Hollywood Studios had arrived, and I couldn’t wait to see what the park had in store for me.

History of Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios first opened its doors in 1989 as the Disney-MGM Studios, a working film and television studio that also offered behind-the-scenes glimpses of the entertainment industry to guests. In 2008, the park was rebranded as Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and it has continued to evolve and expand over the years with new attractions and experiences. Today, Hollywood Studios is home to a variety of thrilling rides, shows, and attractions that transport guests to the worlds of their favorite movies and TV shows. From the high-speed thrills of the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith to the immersive adventures of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, there is something for every kind of Disney fan at Hollywood Studios.

Attractions and Shows

One of the highlights of my visit to Hollywood Studios was experiencing the park’s many amazing attractions. Here are just a few of the standout experiences I had:

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith

As a huge fan of roller coasters, I couldn’t wait to ride the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. This high-speed coaster takes guests on a wild ride through the streets of Los Angeles, set to the music of Aerosmith. The launch from 0 to 60 mph in just seconds was an adrenaline rush like no other, and the inversions and twists had me screaming with excitement.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

As a Star Wars fanatic, I was thrilled to visit the immersive land of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This expansive area of the park is themed to the planet of Batuu, and it offers a fully-realized vision of the Star Wars universe. From the moment I stepped through the gates, I felt like I was really part of the Star Wars story. I rode the thrilling Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride, shopped for lightsaber handles and droids in the marketplace, and even got to build my own droid at the Droid Depot. It was a truly unforgettable experience.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

Another standout attraction for me was the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. This spooky ride takes guests on Mike Norman continue a ride to the top of the Hollywood Tower Hotel, only to plummet down in a series of thrilling drops inspired by the classic TV show. The ride’s special effects, including the ghosts that appear in the elevators, added to the overall creepiness of the experience. all you need to know about Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage

For a break from the thrills, I also enjoyed the Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage show. This Broadway-style musical is a faithful adaptation of the beloved animated film, complete with memorable songs and elaborate costumes and sets. It was a delight to watch and sing along with the show.

Dining Options

In addition to its thrilling rides and shows, Hollywood Studios also offers a wide variety of dining options. I had the chance to try a few different restaurants during my visit, and here are a few that stood out to me:

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant

For a truly unique dining experience, I recommend the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant. This retro-themed restaurant is set up like an old-fashioned drive-in movie theater, with tables shaped like classic cars. While you dine on classic American fare like burgers and shakes, you can watch vintage sci-fi movies on the big screen. It’s a fun and nostalgiciac experience that can’t be found anywhere else.

Hollywood & Vine

For a character dining experience, I recommend Hollywood & Vine. This restaurant is home to a variety of Disney Junior characters, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and the rest of the gang. The buffet-style dining offers a variety of options for both kids and adults, and the characters make their rounds to the tables for photo ops and autographs. It’s a great way to meet some of your favorite characters while enjoying a tasty meal.

Shopping at Hollywood Studios

No trip to Disney is complete without some souvenir shopping, and Hollywood Studios offers plenty of opportunities to bring a piece of the magic home with you. From classic Disney merchandise to themed items from your favorite rides and shows, there is something for everyone at the park’s many retail locations. I particularly enjoyed browsing the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge marketplace, where I found a wide variety of authentic-looking merchandise from the Star Wars universe. I also found some unique and themed items at the various gift shops located throughout the park, like the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster gift shop with its Aerosmith-themed merchandise.
