Shuttle Launch Experience
The Shuttle Launch Experience is a day trip that will take you inside the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. The trip starts with a hotel pickup and breakfast on the go, and ends with a shuttle ride to the visitor center. The Shuttle Launch Experience is operated at a limited capacity. During your experience, you will be simulated as a space shuttle launches into space, complete with a prelaunch briefing from Charles Bolden and a launch simulation with Space Shuttle Atlantis. Ad Astra Per Aspera exhibit
The Ad Astra Per Aspera exhibit at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is a tribute to the astronauts who lost their lives during the Apollo 1 mission. It features personal items and photographs from the astronauts’ professional and personal lives. It also includes the charred command module hatch that was closed due to a design flaw. The museum also features a replica of the Lunar Roving Vehicle and several space suits. In particular, you can see the extravehicular suits worn by astronauts during the Apollo program. Planet Play
The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex has an amazing new attraction: Planet Play, a multi-level play structure that is designed for kids ages 2-12. The attraction features climbing structures, slides, bouncing, and throwing activities. It also has a small coffee stand and bar.
To make the most of your visit to the space center, plan to arrive by 10am. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and shoes must be removed. Expect to spend 45 minutes to one hour exploring Planet Play. For additional activities, consider taking the full day at the Visitors Complex.
